Back Bay/Newbury Street Dining

I am arriving this Friday night and staying at the Newbury Guest House. Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced restaurant ($20-35) in the area for myself, husband and two grad students.

Right across the street is Tapeo, a Spanish specialist. If you hold the liquor costs, you can come in well under $35 a head (they have tapas as well as entrée-portion plates). They have a pretty good selection of Spanish wines, which was my downfall the last time I was there (my partner and I practically crawled across the street to bed after a couple of bottles of Rioja).

Stephanie's is down the road a block or so and is not too expensive.

Actually, there are pubs and Asian food places up and down Newbury, and the prices are almost always quite reasonable (in contrast with the shocking lodging costs, dining out in Boston isn't horribly expensive). You'll be fine. I think you'll really like Tapeo, however, so that's my key reco.

I like Tapeo as well. It's very casual and the food is flavorful.

If you head to Stephanie's on a Friday night, you'd best make a reservation ahead of time because the place is packed!

Have a great trip!

Some other nice ones in the area are Sonsie, Match and Atlantic Fish Co.

Yes, Sonsie's too. Reservations are needed for them as well. Boston's a busy place! :)

Thanks everyone! I made reservations at Stephanie's.
