Bachelorette Party in Nashville
 

I am helping organizie a bachelorette party this summer in Nashville. We chose Nashville because it is a great central location for all of our friends and have heard it is a fun place, but none of us know too much about the city.
Any suggestions on places to stay or activities? Also, are there any good wineries in the area?

Good wineries?? No.

But downtown Nashville, "the district," is great, and you'll find plenty of bars that are perfect for bachelorette parties, almost all of which are on 2nd Ave or Church Street:

To be close to the action, I suggest you stay downtown.

The West End/21st Avenue area surrounding Vanderbilt also has some great spots. Beers on the patio at SATCO...ahhh.

For breakfast, don't miss the famous Pancake Pantry in Hillsboro Village.

What kind of party are you thinking of? Where will you be coming from? What are your ages?

Park Cafe is also a great restaurant with a private room if you'd like. Their Baby spoon spinach salad is awesome, and they have the best creme brule I have ever had. These three places are not downtown. If you want to bar hop, go downtown afterwords, as Gekko suggests.

I love Nashville, but I'm noty particularly fond of any wine from Ky or TN, thank you very much. However, you could schedule a visit to Jack Daniel's, lol. I say take some bottles of excellent California wine for your hotel room. There's plenty to do downtown. Another option is to stay in the extremely fun Opryland Hotel which is a destination in itself. Take a ride on the General Jackson, shop at Opryland Mills next door, take a cab to downtown.

If Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse is still there, you have to go shoe shopping. This used to be a Friday afternoon ritual for my friends and me. It had changed locations the last time I was in Nashville which has been quite a number of years ago so you'll have to ask the hotel for its location information.

Do not stay at the Opryland Hotel unless you all are a bunch of bachelorettes in your mid 60s. You will be way out of the nightlife and the action. It's at least 20 minutes from downtown in the middle of nowhere.

Definitely checkout Hillsboro Village. It's a cute area of town, and if you've never been to Vandy, it's a beautiful campus to walk through.

And then you can go have buckets of beer at Satco though I've heard that that activity is only great for those of us who remember it with great nostalgia. But i guess that makes me one of the crew around here.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions so far. We are in out mid-20s and coming from all over (Atlanta, Indianapolis, D.C., etc.).

Sorry about the wineries question, I know there are a handful in S. Indiana, which is why I asked...

We went to Nashville last year for a long weekend. It's a very fun town that has apparently made a lot of progress in the last decade due to some cleanup/gentrification efforts.

Since this is a bachelorette party I would definitly stay downtown. We stayed at the Millenium due to a good sale and they had a shuttle. However, if we went there again we would stay at the Hilton downtown which is right behind Broadway St., which is the main drag for bars, etc. There are a lot of bars, attractions, and restaurants on or around Broadway. Since you'll probably being doing some partying it would be invaluable to be able to walk back to the Hilton.

I would also try Holiday Inn Express for a cheaper option. You might look at biddingfortravel.com to see which hotels are showing up on priceline. Since the summer is really hot in Nashville and probably considered the low season I don't think you'd have too much of a problem getting a good hotel on Priceline and contacting the hotel regarding two beds in each room.

We ate very well in Nashville. There is a bunch of restaurants downtown, and a really neat brewery type of place (I think it's called Gordon Biersch) and it would be fun to go have appetizers. They had some good drink specials when we were there. There is also F. Scott's which is really good. It can be pricey but we went late for half-off entrees (I can't remember the exact time but it may be worth it for your group...I would call them directly).

SATCO is the best place EVER. Right across the street from Vandy, so nice to have a bucket of beers and a mound of food/chips on a nice sunny day. It's about lunchtime here and I'm BUMMED that's not what I'm having-or for every meal in fact.

The Boundary is a really fun place near Vandy (can't remember the address). When I was in school the downtown area was great but it's even better now. I think it would be fun to do one night more uptown in the West End/Vanderbilt area/Boundary and then one night downtown.

I'm off to find out if SATCO has a website with food delivery to NYC!
