Bachelorette Destinations in January - help please!

As the moho (maid of honor) I've been appointed as the Bachelorette Party Planner. I'm hoping all you Fodorites out there will prove to me once again how amazing you are and help me find the perfect destination. Here are some of the specifics:

When: January 2012
How Long?: approx. 5 nights
How many: 5 - 10 women
Age range: 30 to 40 yrs old
Attendees will be traveling from Los Angeles and from Denver

We were initially looking into Mexico but with everything that is going on down there we've decided to skip it. Costa Rica is also a consideration but I'm wondering if it's too far to travel for only 5 nights. I wouldn't mind the less commercial islands in and near the Caribbean but we are not big fans of the Bahamas.

Our main focus is sun and relaxation without breaking the bank. An all-inclusive would be great. Would rather not pay more than $1,500 total (incl airfare) for each person.

Considering it will be January, here are some places we've put on the list that should be warm:
Costa Rica, Florida Keys, Hawaii.......
What about the Gulf of Mexico? Thoughts?

I'd pass on the Gulf of Mexico. It's usually not very warm in January and a lot less glamorous than the other areas you're looking at. We love Costa Rica, Hawaii, and Key West. Belize is great too. Hawaii can be very expensive though. Check out Manuel Antonio Costa Rica and see what you think. It has lots of hotel and restaurant choices, lots of adventure activities, wildlife like monkeys, and a beautiful beach inside the national park. It's a popular area, so most people speak English.

Key West seems to fit - The Bahamas & other northern Carib locales will be cold. Or Puerto Rico perhaps. There are many non-stop flights into San Juan.
