B&Bs on the Big Island

We are planning a trip to the Big Island in Feb. for one week--our third time there--but would like to stay in a B&B this time. Any suggestions? Also any out of the way places to go hiking and exploring?

Macadamia Meadows is a nice B&B near South Point. Great breakfasts. Very clean.

We stayed at a super place two years ago, and my daughter and son-in-law liked it so much they're going back again this year. Have a look at www.hawaiicountry.com. It's not exactly a B&B - they don't supply breakfast but it's a coffee plantation and they give you all the coffee you want. There are two rental units. We had the smaller one but I think I'd take the larger one next time.

We stayed at a coffee farm cottage when we were there two years ago. I think the website is hawaii4two.com. Lush landscaping, beautiful cottage, very romantic, but out of the way. But we would definitely go back. As far as hikes, etc., we did a ton of that when we were there. The Big Island Revealed book lists them - that is where we got our info from.

Thanks so much for your help--I will look into the lodging and pick up the book.

The Holualoa Inn is a very nice B & B. They have a nice breakfast.

I second the Halualoa Inn (which I think is probably the place that Marilyn is describing too).

Any info on the Jacaranda in Waimea? BTW I too loved the Holualoa. I'd like to keep it a secret, but it could be years before I'm back there anyway.
