B&B Suggetions for Nantucket?

We are looking to spend a long weekend (mid-late Sept) in Nantucket, but since we've never been there, we are open to suggestions for B&Bs. Preferences: ideal location since we don't have a car, romantic, and affordable.
Any suggestions? Thanks! :)

Cranberry Guest House should satisfy all of your requirements.

There are literally hundreds, all within walking distance of town. The Brass Lantern is a cute one, with a great breakfast, romantic place.

The Centerboard is also really nice, a little pricier (Nantucket is a pricey place to begin with, and Sept. is still high season).

Try the Company of the Cauldron for dinner-- I lived on Nantucket for years, and this is my favorite. It's a set menu, so obviously check it out for that night to make sure you like it, but it's a must in my book.

Finally, for something fun and unique, if you rent a 4 wheel drive for 1 day, you can pack a gourmet picnic lunch from anyone of the gourmet shops (Fahey and Fromagerie is wonderful). With the 4 wheel drive, you can get a sticker that will allow you to drive on the beach. Head out to the Eastern side of the island, past the Wauwinet Hotel. Then you'll have a guard post, that will explain how to let air out of your tires, and you can drive out for a beautiful drive out to GREAT POINT. Gorgeous light house, and hardly anyone out there except others with 4 wheel drives and the time to drive out there.

If you're fisherpeople, bring some surf casters (the car rental places will rent you some). Otherwise, just enjoy the area and have some good food!

Enjoy, ACK is one of the most special places on earth.

There are a lot of B&B's on the cape you should check out or have you ever thought of Marthas Vineyard. Nantucket already had enough tourist for one season.

Aaahhh, we hear from the ignorant Islander again. If you'd gotten a better education, you wouldn't have so many problems....

I agree...let's buy the ignorant Islander a one-way ticket to Hyannis so he can get some culture or something.

Well, I see that steroetypes are not beyond the "educated" summer folk. I actually am certain that my education would leave your McDonalds University ass in the dust.
