B&B Novice Question

We are staying at a B&B for the first time next month. It is a very small one - just three guest rooms. I understand that one of the pluses about B&B's is the feeling that you are a guest in a home, not a generic hotel.

So, my rather silly question is - who makes the bed?? I would never dream of not making my bed when staying in someone's home, but then again, we're paying guests. Don't want to commit a faux pas, so would appreciate your answers!

We always stay at bed and breakfasts. You are not expected to make the bed or help with breakfast or do anything else. You are paying them. That said, the experience is much more personal and friendly than hotels. You will love it.

Lorna,

The Innkeepers make the beds, clean the bathrooms, cook the breakfasts, etc.

Typically, B&B owners are doing it because they enjoy people and love the area they live in.

We just returned from a 2 week B&B vacation (1st time also) in Alaska. Ditto previous answers, you will enjoy meeting fellow vacationers. You are not expected to help, but we poured 2nd cup of coffee and helped pickup dishes and placed on counter. We felt very confortable helping. ENJOY

Well, it looks like we get the best of both worlds! We can be guests in someone's home and not have to clean up!

Thanks very much for your responses. Looking forward to trying this out.
