B&B/inn recommendations in Healdsburg?
 

My significant other and I are taking my parents on a 4-day wine-tasting trip in Healdsburg (in July). My parents have never been there before and are very excited.

My SO and I went last year but did not like the innkeeper where we stayed (unfriendly to an extreme!) so we are looking for a new place. We are open to surrounding towns as long as they are 10 min or so from Healdsburg. The hitch is that we need the rooms to be $200 or less (only one night is a weekend night though). Room for my parents must have private bath, a/c and a queen size bed or larger (my dad is tall). We are more flexible. A pool is a plus but not a req't.

I've done some online research (includ. previous posts here), and these are the candidates:

Holcomb House
Midnight Sun Inn
Country Meadow Inn in Windsor
Grape Leaf Inn (2 of its rooms are w/i budget)
Haydon Street Inn
Camellia Inn

Anyone have experiences w/ these? Thanks in advance.

Camellia has a pool and a/c. There is one set of rooms that adjoin as a suite but they are upstairs in the main house. I don't know if the rooms will be under $200 but it's worth a check. The Inn is in easy walking distance to the town square.

We just returned from that area and stayed at the Vintner's Inn in Santa Rosa. We bought the package through LuxuryLink.Com and paid $1050 for 4 nights midweek for a beautiful suite with a fireplace overlooking the vineyards plus a dinner at John Ash, plus a few more goodies. Great deal.
They have an outdoor spa pool plus a gym.

How far is Santa Rosa from Healdsburg?

We stayed at Camellia Inn a couple years ago -- the innkeeper and his wife were charming, and the place was gorgeous. Worth $200+ per night, even (and I usually am pretty "tight" when it comes to paying for lodging!) We LOVED the town and the Inn.

We have also stayed at the Vintner's Inn in Santa Rosa (it is a little north of Santa Rosa). We usually stay there and drive to Healdsburg for dinner - about 10-15 minutes. The Vintners Inn is one of my very favorites...great rooms, breakfast, service, etc. (You might check their web site to see if they have any specials). Healdsburg has many wonderful restaurants, some great shops and most important - wonderful wineries!!!!

Hi there! We just returned from a 10 day trip there. Review to come! We stayed at Camellia the first time and loved it. However, this time we stayed at the Grape Leaf Inn and thought it was fantastic. You can find my review of it at tripadvisor.com The hosts, Richard and Kae put attention in every detail. It is beautiful, the breakfasts are to die for. You can walk to the restaurants and shops in town. Try Willy's Seafood- a tapas-style eatery that is fantastic! Hope you get to try the Dry Creek Kitchen, it was excellent. Also, a lunch at Chateau Souverain in Geyserville would be nice. Have fun! ***kim***
