B&B in Key West

My husband and I (late 40's) will be traveling to Key West next Feb. (I love planning way in advance!!) Any recommendations for great B&Bs? How close to Duvall St. should we stay?
Thanks!

My wife and I stayed at The William House on the south end of Duval Street about five years ago. It had just opened. It was a very good experience. Included breakfast and had a hot tub. Rooms were huge. Piano music wkend nights and wine reception also. I think we paid around $110 a night.

I am from South Africa.I went to Key West 3 years ago. My mom and I stayed at the Caribean House just off Deval Street. It was very nice and cool. Price was 20$ a room.

We went to Key West in 4/98 and stayed at Whispers
B&B on Williams St. It was approx. 2 blocks from
Duval St. in a quiet area. The accomodations were
great with nice hosts, good breakfast, bike rentals
on premises, free access to beach and swimming at the Marriott Reach hotel (10 min bike ride). The B&B was also 2 blocks from the harbor area where you can go on cruises and celebrate the sunset. Enjoy your trip!

hello -- we were in key west the first weekend of this month -- we stayed at the charming "caribean house," in the bahamian village neighborhood, mentioned in a post above -- we were there in the off season, and our room cost us $49 a night, plus taxes -- we stayed friday and saturday nights -- we enjoyed our stay VERY much -- it was a very small, clean, and brightly painted room, which included a tiny refrigerator -- the staff was friendly and delightful -- the caribean house sits just off the corner of petronia and thomas, 3 blocks or so off duval, and about 6 or 7 blocks from mallory square -- we wouldn't hesitate returning to this establishment and in fact, can hardly wait!!!! -- gloria :)

My husband and I stayed at a small one w/in walking distance to Duvall St. called the Westwinds. It included a continental breadfast and they had a beautiful pool tucked away from the street in their garden courtyard. However, we did not enjoy the beaches and when we took a snorkeling cruise, the waters were infested with the biggest jellyfish we had ever seen!!! It went on for miles!!! (It was the middle of August) The shops were very expensive, too. We did enjoy a beautiful sunset cruise and food in the area was pretty good and seafood was fresh.

Stayed at Island City House Hotel on Williams St. It is a few blocks from Duval and walking distance from everything. Very reasonable rates and nice. Includes breakfast. Has a pool in the courtyard and is very quiet. I would recommend it.
Hi! We just got married in Key West this past May and we stayed at the Curry Mansion Inn. It's a block in from Duval and only a couple of blocks from Mallory Square where the Sunset festivities occur each night. Their breakfast was magnificent and each night they have a happy hour from 5-7PM with food and a piano player/singer, poolside. We've been to Key West 4 times and this is the best deal and location! We've also been snorkeling and there were no jelly fish in May. The fresh fish sandwiches were the best in Key West. I have plenty of eating suggestions for you, so feel free to e-mail me and I'll give you more details!! Melody
