avoiding tunnels from Atlanta to Mobile, Alabama

Hello,

I will be taking a trip this weekend to Mobile Alabama and Mon Luisfor family business. I have an anxiety disorder that has made me extremely claustrophobic. As a result I avoid tunnels. I have searched on line and saw that Mobile has 2 tunnels. Can anyone tell me if there are any tunnels on the drive there? If so could you suggest an alternate route?

I am not flying because of the anxiety disorder and claustrophobia. I am in therapy for this (I only mention this because in the past people have suggested those two things). :)

I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks a bunch!

From Atlanta, you will be coming down I-65 into Mobile. The tunnels are on Hwy 98 and I-10 heading west over Mobile Bay. If you don't need to go to Daphne or Fairhope or the beaches, you'll be fine avoiding them.
