Avoiding spring breakers, Florida

What dates should we avoid in Fort Lauderdale area to avoid spring breakers. Or if we stay at an upscale resort, does that insure we won't be overrun by them?

Avoid a time machine because the spring breakers left Fort Lauderdale 25 years ago.

I happen to know quite a few young kids that go to fort lauderdale during spring break for the simple fact their family's own time shares there.

Spring Break around here can very from the middle of Feb through March. Just depends on the school and if there were any hurricanes during the beginning of the school year.

To find out when colleges have their spring breaks check out:

You may still have families to contend with since public schools aren't always on the same schedule as colleges (we're off from the end of March to beginning of April) but we tend to be a much milder crowd!

While you may find a few spring breakers here and there, you will not find them in any big groups. For one thing Fort Lauderdale has gotten too expensive.

Also, with the drinking age being 21, package deals are many times cheaper to places that allow 18 year olds to drink (Mexico).

Also, Fort Lauderdale is an early town.

Anywhere, yes I think you can mitigate the phenomena by staying in high-end places.

And I agree Fort Lauderdale as a spring break haven is yesterday's news.
