AVOID CHEAPSEATS.COM
a little warning to the would be traveler.
sorry about the bold captioning, i am really upset with cheapseats.com. my mother purchased a flight for me to return home before school begins next week and it was on a 7 day advanced purchase from this company and by not running the credit information through in short order (as you would expect when ordering online) i was told via email the next morning that i would need to spend $150 to keep the same booking. now, i understand that the price of a flight goes up the closer you get to the date of travel, as anyone does, but i was unaware that through faulty data management and a company's lazy attitudes about customer service that you may also be charged extra and finally made to believe that it is your fault for the additional charges, which is totall rubbish. please, i implore you, if you want a nice trip that doesnt begin with ire and headache, use anyone but cheapseats.com, i'd venture a guess that you'd have a better chance at getting your ticket at the price you thought you were paying if you wrote a check to some bum on the street rather than dealing with those clowns.
and i was going to try to do this without name calling. oops.
thanks for your time.

By this do you mean that cheapseats failed to process your purchase immediately and that caused you to miss the 7 day adv. purchase price?
If so, that stinks and I'd have your mom dispute the credit charge. Have you called cheapseats and tried to resolve it?
I've used cheapseats.com on a couple of occasions with no issues but I approach it with the same attitude as using Priceline, i.e., press the return key and I own it.
Good luck.

I will say that when I was looking for flights to Tortola for my July trip, using Kayak, every time I clicked on the Cheapseats rate and tried to book, it told me the shown price was no longer available. The price it did give me was double and triple the original listed price.
This same thing continued to happen to me over about a 10 day period.
It would show $550 airfare CHS-EIS EIS-CHS and when I clicked it would say 'sorry not available but we have found the low price of $1200'.

In a similar vein, have you seen the outrageous fare increases for non Argentine residents on in country flights at AerolineasArgentinas?
As an example, the late Oct rt flt from BA (AEP) to IGR (Iguazu) was $198.42 when we booked/paid in mid July.
Same economy class seats now $563.32 and similar increases system wide.
