AVIS-worth it to rent GARMIN GPS

I'm a big fan of HERTZ NeverLost navigation system, however HERTZ rental rates are so much higher than AVIS, and AVIS now offers GARMIN brand GPS system. Has anyone used AVIS's GPS system? Wondering if it's as good as HERTZ NEVERLOST? Trying to save money on car rental in Florida, and get a good navigation system as well...

I have a Garmin Nuvi and think its great. It is also highest rated by Consumer Reports.

I have never used the AVIS Garmin, but I have a Garmin Streetpilot C330 and they look similar. I have used the Hertz NeverLost system. Garmin is much more user friendly in my opinion, and recalculates much faster if you go off the beaten track. ((b))

I've used a few different systems when renting cars in Europe, and they all worked great for me-they were slightly different but always good.

Depends on where you are planning to go in Florida. Most of my trips to Florida I have stayed at hotel either on main road or on beach and traveled only to easy-to-find places. Florida is one of the places I have done just fine with a good map - but if you want a GPS system, Garmin is probably a better version than the one Hertz offers (which is a Magellan-like device that I am less fond of)
