Authenic Cattle Drive

My husband and I are excellent Western style riders and have been on many backpacking horseback riding trips in the West. We are interested in an authenic cattle drive and are interested in hearing about any that someone might have taken and with which ranch? I contacted the famous Bitterroot Ranch and they seemed to be quite "snooty" and only liked to take the same group back each year. We would like it to be a "real" cattle drive and not just a few hours of riding a day. Any ideas? Txs.

My friend and I have been very impressed with the help we have had from www.ranchrider.com - sorry haven't progressed as far as the full scale cattle drive yet - still at the working ranch stage! We're off to the Bucking S in June.

If you click on your name (anywhere it appears in blue on this screen) you will see all of your posts - including the duplicate post with the responses.

If you "post a reply" to it or any post, it moves back "to the top" of the line.

Hi Roma,

Very surprised to hear your impression of the folks at The Bitterroot. However, if you go to the web site www.equitours.com, you will find an outfitter near Bryce Canyon that does a cattle drive and also a Natl Park ride. They are only during certain times of the year of course, since they are real cattle drives. This might be of interest to you.

Also, another Fodorite did a horseback riding trip out of Torrey this past year. You might try searching for that post. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the outfitter.

Good luck and have fun!
