I don't want you to feel scared... just to feel the sort of stupid realization you get when you understand your own lunacy.

xbt2316 Dec 23rd, 2005 05:44 AM

Aggiemom, this forum isn't about namecalling or personal insults and flames. If you can't follow the rules, take yourself elsewhere.

aggiemom Dec 23rd, 2005 05:47 AM

you're so funny

aggiemom Dec 23rd, 2005 12:20 PM

xbt: Just for the record, I've never called you a name or insulted you. I was just supposing what you do with your time. Obviously, you're reading something into what I said that is just not there.

You, however, have implied a threat.

aggiemom Dec 23rd, 2005 12:38 PM

....and in keeping with the spirit of the holiday season, I forgive you....

BTilke Dec 24th, 2005 05:26 AM

Why were helpful, longtime posters like Patrick and Elaine banned while xbt gets to continue his insults and threats unchecked?

aggiemom Dec 24th, 2005 06:10 AM

Btilke -

I was wondering the same thing.

xbt2316 Dec 24th, 2005 06:45 AM

Aggiemom, Btilke... if you don't know why these things happen or do not happen, then you obviously misunderstand something.

Why not reread the forum rules?

As for what I do... I provide information and correct misunderstandings... and I do it with a lot of energy. The forum needs that.

If someone is factually repudiated by what I say, and takes umbrage, perhaps they need to do some self-analysis.

I have more respect for the personal views of posters than the people that flame me.

xbt2316 Dec 24th, 2005 06:48 AM

Now back to the subject at hand... relocation to Austin, Texas.

The people who love Austin will of course emphasize its positive qualities.

I, on the other hand, will balance the reporting by revealing some not so flattering aspects of life in Austin.

I'd say both points of view are needed.

xbt2316 Dec 24th, 2005 06:54 AM

In one case, though, I have defended Austin, not attacked it. I have rebutted the false charge that Austin is humid in comparison to Chicago, new York or most other American cities.

Especially southern coastal towns like Tampa and Miami and Houston.

aggiemom Dec 24th, 2005 07:48 AM

xbt: you have referred to a poster's "mania" or "lunacy" during your postings. That seems like a personal attack to me.

xbt2316 Dec 24th, 2005 08:19 AM

All I did relative to you was to force you to admit a personal truth that became relevant to the forum...

That your constant stories about Dallas' supposedly unbearable summer heat were caused by a physiological condition on your part, and were not necessarily relevant to anyone else.

And so, I perfectly understand why you want to stay out of a Texas summer... as long as you are candid about the real reason.

xbt2316 Dec 24th, 2005 08:22 AM

Aggiemom, the subject is relocation to Austin.

aggiemom Dec 24th, 2005 08:25 AM

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year xbt!

xbt2316 Dec 24th, 2005 10:24 AM

Same to you, Aggiemom... and may Santa be good to you.
