Austin-San Antonio Trip Report: March 2018
 

We didn't have a lot of time, so tried to pack it in!

Thanks for a great report! Our DD lived in Austin for a while, and you brought back some great dining memories.

Those U-turns coming off the Austin freeways caused us to take the "scenic route" more than once. Even our GPS wasn't clear on them. Once I got a little more familiar with Austin (DD lived there for a while) I saw the positives in the design, but they are different!

The reason that Central Market is similar to Whole is that Whole Foods was a copycat. The same items are usually cheaper at Central and they often have live music in their food court. Their flower departments are so nice, we almost ordered our daughters wedding flowers there.

I just sent your link to my two girlfriends. We are doing the third annual GGW (college roommates) tour next March, San Antonio and one night in Austin. Thank you. Also loved the format

Nice report. I'm feeling a little guilty I never wrote mine. The missions are well worth going to.

We also noticed areas of the San Antonio downtown that were rundown. And empty historic looking buildings that would be snapped up if it were my town. I think part of it is the focus on the Riverwalk. And one lady from San Antonio told me there was a significant amount of poverty in San Antonio. She lived there and volunteered at a school and another non-profit.

We also really liked Hopdaddy's . One of our favorite meals.
