Austin for Thanksgiving Resto Choices

Hi All,

Found 3 restos open for Thanksgiving from longer list provided by hotel:

Green Pastures, Trio and Portabla

Anyone wish to make comments? Or suggest something else? Thanks! TDude

Nothing fancy, but for traditional "Texas" homecooked food (and lots of pies!!!) the Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Falls will be open - it's in the hill country just outside of Austin.

Marble Falls is not just outside of Austin. It's well over an hour away, and not worth it in my opinion.

All three of the restaurants you mentioned are great! On the other Austin thread (the embarassing one!) I suggested the Driskill. You honestly cannot go wrong with any of these restaurants. You will be eating well on Thanksgiving.

Make reservations early!

I copied my reply from your thread in the Lounge.

(and again) to each his own.

Here's my reply to you on the Lounge thread:

Trio will be your best bet out of the three due to distance since you won't have a car.

zcat, no offense but this traveler is staying downtown. I just don't think he/she needs to be traveling an hour and a half each way for their Thanksgiving dinner. I live in Austin and have been to Marble Falls. Honestly, not much there and don't plan on going back.
