Aussies with a week off for Thanksgiving..help!

Hi,
We are Aussies living in Seattle for 2 yrs and coming up to our first Thanksgiving. Our kids (5 & 8) Have the whole week off school, so what would be the best place to go see that's not too expensive or too cold (and not the Grand Canyon or Disneyland!). We don't have camping gear and my husband works so hard he likes a bit of R&R.
Thanks.

How about San Diego? Your kids are the right age to enjoy LegoLand, Seaworld, the Wild Animal Park or Zoo. There are lots of affordable hotels in the S.D. area. The beaches would be too cold for swimming, but not too cold to play & walk around.

I second San Diego. Good hotels both near the harbor downtown or on Mission Bay. Weather should be great and lots to see and do.
Alternatively, if you can get rooms, think about Yosemite Valley, won't be real cold yet.
As a final idea consider Death Valley, again if you can get rooms.
Have Fun!

Thanks for the ideas. I'm thinking more Yosemite than San Diego ie Nature vs City. Keep the ideas coming, much appreciated!
