Auburn, Ala - Any suggestions?

My husband and two kids will be in South Eastern Alabama for a week and would like suggestions for a nice place to stay(~$100 night).

There is a Hampton Inn not too far from the Auburn University campus.
There are also several motels at the Opelika exit of off I 85, including a Holiday Inn.
Hi BJ. Not to be picky, but Auburn isn't considered "southeaast" Alabama, but more "central" Alabama. It would help to know if you have to stay in Auburn, or will you be staying in what is truly considered "southeast" Alabama. "Southeast" Alabama is considered the area to the south and east of Montgomery, AL, such as Dothan, Troy, Ozark, Enterprise, and Eufaula. Suggestions are:
1. Lake Martin is a beautiful, clear lake, ideal for swimming, boating and fishing. It is a short drive northwest of the Auburn/Opelika area. I believe there is an Alabama State Park there, as well as condos for rent.
2. Montgomery, Al is the state capitol. There are some interesting civil rights monuments there, as well as a theatre group, but I can't remember the name.
2. Eufaula is an hour or so south of Auburn. There are some beautiful old homes to tour, and Lake Eufaula has fishing, boating etc. Hope these suggestions are of some help.

It's been so long since the original post that this won't help them, but might help someone else searching topics and archives...I am originally from Auburn, an AU Grad, and return to visit twice/year. These days you could look into staying at Hampton Inn (as mentioned in earlier by Bob Brown), a new Garden Inn at the Glenn Ave. exit from I-85, AU Conference Center near campus, and now The Logdge at Grand National Golf Course. For all of you serious golfers out there, Grand Nat'l is a Robert Trent Jones course and is REALLY nice. Hope the FYI helps someone.

You don't mention when you will be in Auburn but if it is a football weekend Sept 4, 18 or 25 or Oct 9, 16, or 23 don't plan on staying in Auburn or Opelika.
