Attn females! Looking for great LA salon for haircut/makeover for 45th birthday!

Husband and I will be making a yearly trip to West Coast in August (Laguna Beach,LA,and Santa Barbara).I thought it would be fun to get a new haircut and maybe even makeup from some nice salon in or near Beverly Hills. We will prob stay at The Peninsula. They have a salon, but I'm not familiar w/any in LA, except by name/fame only. Has anyone out there had a fun/good experience doing this. Don't really care about the price; I assume it'll be costly, but it's my birthday.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Flowergirl, several years ago I went to the Jose Eber Salon on Rodeo in Beverly Hills and it was well worth it because they did a wonderful job on my hair. Maybe another poster who lives in the area can give an updated review of this salon and its services.

I have also heard really good things about Jose Eber. VERY expensive, but they do what they do.

We go to the Jim Wayne salon over on little Santa Monica in Beverly Hills, where they have great stylists and two terrific colorists (I've been using Lisa for years). They do celebs and ordinary people (like myself!), but keep a low profile.

You might consider a spa like Georgette Klinger in Beverly Hills for a haircut, facial, and make-up (or more!). That would be good pampering!

On the less expensive end (60-80 for a haircut and blow-dry) Umberto is in Beverly Hills - two locations actually in Beverly Hills. But I agree with Jose Eber if price is truly not a care-and I think his shop is in the Rodeo Collection too - very fancy.

hi,

You could try Spa mystique in Century City for a massage and salon service. It is a lovely place
