atlantic city with teen

We're going to AC for just one night in march but with my 16 yr old daughter. Planned to stay at borgata but I see it seems to be away from the boardwalk and other casinos. Is it easy to get around from the borgata? Should I stay somewhere that's easier for shopping or boardwalk? We'll just be accompanying my husband for a conference, not really interested in gambling but want someplace nice. Thanks for the help.

Hi jobey, The Borgata's my favorite and I'm no gambler. They have shops and restaurants, a nice pool and awesome spa too. You can also take the AC shuttle...$2 I think, and runs between all the casinos.

Hi.

The Borgata is the nicest place in AC. It is in the 'Marina' district which is away from the Boardwalk and fairly isolated. Although Harrah's and the Trump Marina are nearby, there is not a nice way to walk from one hotel to the other.
It is easy enough to catch a cab from the Borgata to the Boardwalk. If you have a car, there is an expressway from the Borgata to the Boardwalk. Parking is readily available at all of the casinos. There is no free parking, but you can ask for a parking transfer (basically a receipt) that will allow you to park at another casino's parking lot for free - there is a time limit to this. If you don't get the transfer, prices vary. They used to be a flat $2. Now each casino charges a different amount, but they still accept the parking transfers.

If shopping is important, check out The Quarter at the Tropicana. You might want to investigate staying there, too. I’ll be at the Tropicana for a weekend in March. I like it a lot. It is less expensive than the Borgata and still has all the amenities I need. The Quarter just opened. It is a shopping, dining and entertainment complex. It even has an IMAX theater. You can find more about it at the Tropicana website.
Have Fun,
Mark

Need a pit stop on an East Coast drive and thinking of AC. Will have my 9 yr old and looking for a nice place with an indoor pool (October). Price isn't really an issue, but I don't want to pay spa fees for a pool if I don't have to. Thanks!

There is a fairly new area in Atlantic city that has some good shopping. They are all outlets and I got some good deals there last weekend. THere's a Ralph Lauren, Casual Corner Outlet, Wilsons Leather outlet, (I bought 3 bags a wallet and phone case for $40 total). I think there's a GAP as well, and about 10 other stores.

I don't know what hotels have pools but you might check some of the websites to find amenities.

We usually stay at Resorts International, which is our favorite.

Have a great time.
