Atlantic City weekend

Hi, I'm interested in planning a weekend to AC. I want to see a show at the Boardwalk Hall on May 25 (Andre Rieu). Looking for advice on a hotel room. Would prefer to spend $100 a night, but I guess at that rate I'll probably have to stay in Absecon or some other nearby town.
Which is fine, as long as I can taxi in for the show, and walking around on boardwalk and beach. The maximum I'd be willing to spend is up to $200 a night, as long as it's not far from the boardwalk. Will the AC taxis be ok taking me to a nearby town?

Do you know how I could find out if any of the casinos have a weekend package? That could be an option as well, as long as I could find a good deal. Thanks, Greg

After extensive research and reading reviews on TripAdvisor, I had booked the Comfort Inn (not too far from the Boardwalk). I found the Casino packages to be pricey. But, eventually, I got the Sheraton for $103/night with Priceline. Sheraton was excellent.

The are several places on MyJerseyShore.com in your price range.

I would suggest Ramada, Fairfield or Clarion. All three are outside the city but the taxi fare will be reasonable.

I would book the room as soon as possible because that's Memorial Day Weekend

How are you getting to Atlantic City? If you are driving, you might as well drive to the show. Gas and parking should cost a bit less than one way taxi fare from Absecon (and much less than round trip fare).

May 25th is Memorial Day weekend (one of the biggest weekends each year for AC - if not the busiest weekend). The Trump Plaza (attached to Boardwalk Hall) normally has room and show packages, but as I said, you are asking about a peak weekend. Check the casino websites (or even call them) to see if they have show packages available.

Thanks all. No I won't be driving on this trip. I live in PA and will just take the bus down and back.

After doing a little more searching, I found the site: www.atlanticcity.com. It looks like I might be able to find a decent package there.

Rich2000ac, I will check out that website as well, thanks. I'm gonna try and book something in the next 2 weeks or so. I was curious also about the location of the Boardwalk Hall: is it near a particular casino? Greg

Greg,

Boardwalk Hall is adjacent to Trump Plaza, right in the center of Atlantic City.

The bus station is just a few blocks away. Caesars and Bally's are close too.

As I mentioned in my previous post, Boardwalk Hall is connected to the Trump Plaza. You don't even have to go outside to get from one to the other.

For a quick survey of rates for that weekend you can check Expedia or Orbitz in addition to the other sites people have mentioned.

I would avoid non-casino hotels 'near the boardwalk', but something a little further out should be OK. The Flagship is showing reasonable rates for the 25th. I have not stayed there, but have investigated it as a serious option for a few trips.
