Atlanta Trip

I'm flying down to Atlanta in August to meet some friends who are on a road trip. We'll only be there a couple of nights. We're doing the Brave's game thing one night, but what about the other? Any suggestions of good nightlife? No dance-club cheesy things like that. Just laid back, good drinks and atmosphere.

Also any good hotel suggestions in downtown for 5 guys on a budget would be great.

Plus any great Atlanta travel stories in general, I haven't been since I was about 13, now 23- so let's here it

Thanks

How about going out to Stone Mountain one night and watching the laser show? Tons of atmosphere, great people-watching, but BYOB...

For a bunch of guys, I would highly suggest going to the Tavern at Phipps. Its this great restaurant/ bar in phipps plaza right in buckhead. The atmosphere is laid back and "clubby". Clubby as in a mans club. The bar is great and the people watching is fun. The women are gorgeous. Im sure you'd have a good time there.

Sounds like a plan. Thanks for the advice. The Tavern sounds more like us than Stone Mountain.

I go to ATL quite a bit and always use priceline for hotels (check out www.biddingfortravel.com first). I usually end up with a 3 or 4* in the $45-50 price range.

And 5 guys together - I'd recommend Buckhead - it has much more atmosphere than downtown - lots of good restaurants, bars, etc. A wide selection of hotels and easy access to the MARTA. There is not much to do downtown after dark. Have fun.
