Atlanta - Ritz Buckhead or Four Seasons?
 

I will be attending The Market in January at The Peachtree Center. I usually stay at a hotel downtown but this time I seem to be getting a really good rate at either the Ritz Carlton-Buckhead or the Four Seasons at Midtown.

I plan to use the Marta System to get from the airport to either hotel and then the hotel will provide transportation to the Market. Would one hotel be more convenient - area restaurants, etc than the other?

Buckhead is the best area for strolling at night. First, it is safe (while it is not recommendable in downtown or Midtown to go out after dark), second, there are excellent restaurants in the area. I strongly recommend Blue Pointe which is a stonethrow from the Ritz Carlton.

Driving time from Buckhead to Peachtree Center will be 10 to 15 min, depending on traffic conditions. You can also take Marta (probably even faster).

You really can't go wrong with either hotel. The Four Seasons has a little more upscale, exclusive feel to it and it's a bit newer. The FS is in midtown which is a busy office area during the day but tends to clear out at night.

The Ritz in Buckhead is across the street from 2 shopping centers and within walking distance of dozens of restaurants. You'll be 10-15 minutes farther from the Mart.

A Marta station is just across the street from the RC. Buckhead is a fun area with lots of great restaurants.

Sounds like I will be staying at the RC. Whick Marta line do I need to take and what stop do I get off?

Would I be comfortable walking to the Blue Pointe by myself (single 50 year old female)? Any other restaurant recommendations?

Go online to the RC website and request pickup service from the airport. This will be much easier than taking Marta imho. The restaurant is very closeby and you'll be fine walking there.

I'd pick the Four Seasons and cab or use the hotel's cars to get to restaurants, etc.
