Atlanta, Ga-best restaurants
3 nights in Atlanta. Staying downtown but will have a car.
Best choices that wont break the bank. Someone mentioned Bistro Nikko and Kyma. Any opinions??? Thanks |
What's your definition of 'won't break the bank'?
Can't speak to the Bistro Nikko--haven't been. Kyma--it's not inexpensive but it's good. I have to say I like Avra in Midtown better. Avra has excellent Greek and your wallet might like that better. What kind of food would you most want to eat? We have just about everything here! |
Italian, Thai, Seafood, Continental, Fusion,etc.
No more than $75.00 FOR TWO . Do you know a place called ANTICA PASTA? Any good? HOW MAY DAYS DOES ONE NEED TO DO JUSTICE TO THE AQUARIUM? |
Love Antica Posta! Owner/chef is from outside Florence. Cute old house, real Italian food, excellent service.
Aquarium--not even one day, more like 4ish hrs. It's big as far as aquariums go but it's not *that* big. |
Thanks for your help.

Another fan of Avra here. Love the food and the service.
For Thai, Nan is great but can be pricey. The same owners own Tamarind Seed at Colony Square (both in Midtown) http://tamarindseed.com/bio.html http://www.nanfinedining.com/#home http://tamarindseed.com/ Near the aquarium is a great restaurant in a new location. The owner used to own the Pleasant Peasant (on Peachtree) but now owns the Peasant Bistro. I highly recommend the Peasant Bistro - http://www.peasantatl.com/ If you haven't been to Atlantic Station before, it's a neat mixed living/shopping/dining area in Midtown. I really like Strip there - as well as the sister restaurants Shout at Colony Square and Prime at Lenox Square. A great varied menu and GREAT sushi. My favorite sushi roll, the Sinatra roll, can be found at all three, but there are plenty of other options on the menu as well. If you want to catch a movie while you are in town, there's a big AMC multiplex theatre opposite the entrance to Strip. If you've never been to an IKEA store, there's one there too. http://www.h2sr.com/ I've never heard of the Bistro Nikko either, but I checked and it's part of the Buckhead Life group and all of their restaurants are good (Kyma is in that group) http://www.buckheadrestaurants.com/index2.html The menu looks good - http://www.buckheadrestaurants.com/m...iko-Dinner.pdf If you are staying in downtown, I'd recommend Midtown over Buckhead, but I'm also easily frustrated by Buckhead traffic. :-) Enjoy your trip. |
Antica Posta is a great restaurant. It can get busy on weekends, but is a cozy spot with outstanding food, very well prepared and presented. We found the aquarium somewhat disappointing.

I still remember my dinner at Antica Posta, mavip. I felt like I was in Italy. Wonderful food, lovely atmosphere and very good service.
