Atlanta - downtown dining question

Hi,Does anyone happen to know of any good dining for Mexican food in downtown Atlanta? We will be staying at the Westin and won't have a car,so hopefully something close.
Thanks a lot for any ideas.

I think you're going to be hard pressed for excellent Mexican food within walking distance to the Westin. I would recommend the restaurant Daily's near the Westin. Excellent food at a resonable price. Good Mexican restaurants are further out of town - at least a taxi ride away.

There is a place called Mama Ninfa's near the Westin. I believe it's part of a small chain from Texas. It's probably not the best Mexican in the world, but it's near your hotel and it's a fairly pleasant place to dine.

A super good French Bistro Institution in Atlanta is The Pheasant restaurant....
You will love it and the prices are not high....

Not to digress, but the institution is the Peasant Restaurant, at 229 Peachtree Street. Can't help with Mexican fare in that part of town, though there are a lot of small restaurants a few blocks south around Central City Park you might review (not after dark).
The Westin has a destination restaurant, The Sundial Room, that is worth trying. It is perched 70 stories atop the hotel and rotates 360 degrees once an hour (at an even pace). The food isn't great, but then again, neither is Mexican.

Is everyone talking about the Pleasant Peasant. I have enjoyed that restaurant when at market.

The Pleasant Peasant was in Phipps Plaza shopping center, but it closed..

HOWEVER, the Original Peasant Restaurant is still in downtown Atlanta....

Sorry hmmmm, if I misspelled....
