Atlanta - Buckhead area?

Will be in Atlanta in the beginning of November. Is the Buckhead area a good place to stay and see some of the tourist spots of Atlanta? Also for good food?

Yes, it's a very good and central choice. Great eateries, shopping and hotels. Lots of threads on this. If you have specific questions, ask away.

Buckhead is a high class section of the city. Nice restaurants, clubs, people watching. If you are going to be here for a few days, I would recommend a car. You can take mass transit MARTA trains and/or buses. Also, please do not walk the streets downtown at night. I love this city, however, drive by shootings, car jacking has occurred. Buckhead increased their security due to these crimes occurring last summer. Should be much safer now. Have a great visit

I live in the Buckhead area and agree it's a great place to stay during your visit. There's shopping (from 2 good sized malls to small boutiques), a WIDE variety of restaurants at all price points, and other conveniences in the area. You could take Marta to some of the Atlanta tourist spots, e.g., High Museum, CNN Center, etc. For others, and given that it could be cold ("southern" cold mind you) by then, you'll probably want a car. Enjoy your visit!

What are the tourist spots you want to see in Atlanta? There aren't any "toursity" things to do in Buckhead besides shop. Like the others suggested, you will need a car because MARTA is very limited. How long are you going to be in Atlanta? What are your interests?
