Atlanta area hotel w/ 2-bedroom suites
 

Planning a girlfriends' trip to Atlanta in October for the NASCAR race. Friends coming from literally all corners of the country. There is a Residence Inn near the airport with two-bedroom/two-bath suites including kitchen. We've stayed at Residence Inns before and like them. Was wondering if there were any hotels in that same vicinity (Airport area or more south towards the speedway in Hampton) with similar accommodations. "All-Suite" hotels/motels are rarely that ....

Hi xrae - we just booked the HI Express in Buckhead - 2BR/2BA for $110 nite - we'll be there at the end of the month and will let you know - I know this is further away than you'd like but it might be nice to stay "in town" and enjoy Buckhead.

Thank you Leah. You can email me -- xrae @ chartertn.net if you like. Buckhead would be farther than we'd want to stay on this trip, but it's good to know for the future. My favorite Atlanta hotel room has been at a Doubletree Suites somewhere on 285. The room was HUGE and nicely laid out. But it wasn't two-bedroom.

While there are plenty of hotels near the airport, understand that the surrounding area is pretty unattactive and most of the area south of I-20 inside of 285 is downright dangerous. While there are a few nice pocket neighborhoods in this area, none have hotels.

If your most important criteria is being close to the race, I'd look for something further south of the airport outside of Atlanta.
