Athens, Georgia Restaurants?
We're spending one night in Athens soon and are interested in good restaurants in the downtown area. Price isn't an issue and are open to any kind of food. East-West Bistro looks good. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

If you're looking for fine dining, you might want to try Five and Ten, which seems to be the hottest thing going in Athens at the moment. I've never been but others swear by it. Here's a review:

http://www.accessatlanta.com/ajc/living/dining/1123five.html

If you're looking for a more casual experience, try an Athens classic, the Grill. It's right across from the Arch and features some of the best milk shakes ever. And huge burgers.

Have a great time! Athens is a great place and I have fond memories of my school days there.

Brian-
There is a place called Five and ten that is supposed to be really good. Chef there was one of the top ten or so new chefs in the country, from some publication. East West Bistro is also good. There is a good Cajun place called Harry Bissets also

I highly recommend Harry Bissetts. I had their blackened mahi and it was delicious although hot. You might want to try it bronzed instead of blackened.

Thanks guys. We want to stay downtown for dinner as we'll be doing some bar hopping before hitting the 40 Watt, but maybe we'll try to hit Five and Ten for lunch.
