Mary,
Too funny. Speaking of plumeria, we just bought a plant yesterday. I've never seen them for sale here. Who knows how it will do here in the S. F.
Bay Area, but what the hell, even If if get on bloom on it next year I will be happy just to sit and....sniff it and cherish it. Ahh.

All this talk of ants reminds me. We has a real problem with ants on Kaua`i this summer. In your pants? They were everywhere! They were angry too! Not much is said of this little known fact, as most of the negative attention on Kaua`i is directed at the rain, the chickens and the lousy food. Beware!
Just antoher reason to STAY AWAY from Kaua`i, especially in late July, as that is when the ants are most active.

Thanks for everyone's help and good wishes. The ants are biting something fierce today!
Tomorrow about this time I will be enjoying a lovely fruity-something with my new DH.
I'll post when I return!

Alisa, if you are going on your honeymoon, here's a tip: Don't go to a luau, or all those people will let you know that they are wondering WHY you are there....! Just kidding, you'll have a GREAT time!!!

Alisa,
I see from your response on another thread that you're back! How was your trip? Details, please!
The Klub needs a Kauai fix. I know several of you were going all around the same time, so we're expecting several miserable reports about that deplorable place.
No pressure, though!

I have been killing plumerias here in the bay area for years now. Tragic stuff. This year, however, we had a miracle. The one 4 year old four ft. tall asparagus which has lasted through trial and tribulations..just made three or more sets of lovely blooms. It started to blossom right before we left for that dreadful place island in September. I'll post ya a few pix later. I think i have someone from the peninsula who is gonna adopt the love and give it a real sunny place to stretch out in. No more plant light for the poor dear.
