At work w/ ants in my pants! Leaving for Kauai on Fri!

Just wanted to share! I can not wait to enjoy some time alone with my DH in such a gorgeous and relaxing place! Tick tock, tick tock....I am certain time is passing more slowly today.

Any festivals or going-ons that I should know about for next week? What is the Coconut Festival like?

Thanks to all Fodorites for your help with planning!

Our annual Coconut Festival is always good fun -- lots of entertainment, craft vendors, and food. Kapa`a Beach Park is oceanfront, so even if the day is warm you can count on those ocean breezes to help keep it comfortable. Admission this year is $5 -- still a bargain.

As for events, pick up the Garden Isle newspaper and check their calendar. For Hawaiian music on the north shore, Tuesday night at Hanalei Bay Resort (Princeville) or at Tahiti Nui (Hanalei) are both excellent.

Tick tock, tick tock

Aloha Alisa.......have a grand time on that beautiful laid back island. It seems that you are already getting acclimated to Kauai time since your clock is moving so slowly!!

Okay--I made it to lunch. Maybe I will run to the drugstore and browse sunscreen!

Thanks for the good wishes. I'll post when I return!

Don't forget the mosquito repellent, umbrellas, rain ponchos and earplugs to block the rooster noise.

And, to add to Ivk's sentiments..take lots of food with you since Kauai's restaurants are the pits!

What is with all you people going to Kaua'i? Alisa? Moondoggie? Sandra? pdxgirl? JEEZ LOUISE! Bring an umbrella, or better yet a poncho.

9 days until Oahu and 14 until Kauai! I have my wardrobe of bathing suits & coverups lined up, along with my trusty flipflops. Spent a couple of hours yesterday at Newport Beach working on my base tan! It was really beautiful there yesterday and I looked as far as could across the Pacific and imagined my destination. Half the fun for me is the anticipation!

Bill,

Your photos and trip report got me rev'd up weeks ago! Then I had to watch the DVD of the 1st season of Lost to catch up and seeing all of the Oahu locales just made it worse! I think I am bugging my co-workers, I better shut up...I even wore my Walmart Plumeria perfume the other day!!!

Hi Alisa,
Have a great time, husband and I are going but not until October 16. This will be our 9th trip (the research continues, as Kal would say). The Coconut Festival sounds like a lot of fun. Enjoy.
