Astoria NY?

I am moving to Astoria next week - have an apartment 4 blocks from the N train and will be working down by WAll Street. Is this commute going to be that bad? Anyone have any comments on living in AStoria..cool places to go etc..?

The commute will not be much different from living on the upper west side. Queens in general has a lot of ethnically diverse neighborhoods with some inexpensive, authentic, restaurants worth trying.

I haven't been to Astoria in many years, but I remember the awesome small family run Greek restuarants and bakeries. Yum.

The commute won't be too bad - probably 35-45 minutes in total depending on where in Astoria you're located and what subway transfer you need to make. The Greek restaurants, bakeries and specialty shops are what I'm aware of but there must be other worthwhile diversions there. The few acquaintances I have who live there have not been there for long and tend to come into the city for entertainment (or just stay in the city after work for that purpose).

XXXXX:
Hi welcome to NYC. Your commute should be breeze. Alot of folks working in lower Manhattan live in along stops on the N train. Astoria's Greek influence is very much alive along with Cuban and Columbian influence. Steinway Street (The piano company) is the Main drag. Plenty of places to shop and eat.
Welcome to NYC!!

XXXX:
Welcome to NYC!
Your commute to lower Manhattan should be breeze. Astoria's Greek influence is still evident but there is a definite Latin flair especially in the food department. Steinway Street (the piano family) is the main drag with plenty of shopping and restaurants.
