Aston Islander on the Beach
Does anyone have an opinon of the Aston Islander on the Beach in Kauai?

Put "Islander" in the text search box above--I've seen this place mentioned several times. You might also put "Kauai" in the box for additional information.

Stayed there 3 weeks ago and I was very satisfied - great location, room and grounds were both in good condition. We had an oceanfront unit, though most units have pretty good ocean view. Nice pool with pool bar. We got a discounted rate through a website, and I thought the Islander was the best value of our entire trip. I like the east coast location so that you can do activities on both the north and south coasts.
Just two minor things you should be aware of- first, the parking lot is too small, so you sometimes need to park out on the street, though there is always space there; second, the beach is only suitable for swim/snorkel on very calm days, it was rough surf all but one day when we were there.
Totally agree with Bill's eval.
We've stayed there 10 times and have just booked again for 167 days from now.

The only time we've had any prob there is when they were in the middle of remodeling around 3yrs ago and we finally moved to a condo in Poipu. Too much noise and dust at the time.

Great pool bar. During our Dec/Jan stays we can see whales, dolphins swimming by and it's not uncommon to see a seal wash up and take a day long soonze as some sea turtles sneak on by.

Walking distance to some good restaurants, shopping, groceries.
Not a Hyatt, Marriott, P'ville by no means. 1.5* IMHO.
Kal
