assistance please-seattle to vancouver, ferry service
I'm hoping to get to vancouver for a few days in july, but for cost savings, I was thinking of flying into seattle and catching a ferry up to vancouver. However, I've been searching the net and haven't had much luck-I'm not bringing a car, so don't need a car ferry, and I'm not looking for a luxury ferry trip up, that would off-set my savings on the plane. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you!

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think there is a direct ferry between the two. You could either get the Victoria Clipper from Seattle to Victoria and then a ferry/coach with Pacific Coach Lines from Victoria to Vancouver.
It would be far cheaper and quicker to get a coach from Seattle to Vancouver with Quick Coach (or it might be spelt Quik Coach) I know they go direct from the airport to downtown Vancouver. Hope this helps |
We have a freeway. Why would we need a ferry?

Other than renting a car (for which there may be issues taking it into Canada) and about a 3 hour drive in good traffic, the below links are your only hope, Obiwan.

Well, I guess there's also the train:

There is NOT a ferry from Seattle to Vancouver.
The easiest, cheapest is take Quik Book right from Airport to downtown Vancouver. The one I took (a year ago) only had two departure times... mid-morning and 2 PM. IF you plan to spend time in Seattle first...taking Amtrak would be the easiest to get to since the station is in Pioneer Square area (little south of the downtown area) There maybe only one departure a day...not sure--could fine that info on their web site.. Good luck.. |
Oops this is the web site for bus to Vancouver
http://www.quickcoach.com/schedule.htm It looks like a "busy" web site but it provides a toll free number for assiatance.. |
Thanks for quick coach tip-I've looked into the website and I think it's going to be the route I go. Much appreciated!
