Aspen Restaurant Recommendations?
 

My husband and I are spending the first weekend in October at the Little Nell in Aspen to celebrate our first anniversary. Does anyone have any good restaurant recommendations? We'd like to have a nice romantic dinner (~$150 ish), we love food and enjoy just about all types of cuisine. Any other recs. for good lunch/breakfast spots? Thanks in advance!

Well, the restaurant in the Little Nell is very well known and supposed to be good, so you might try that. Also, the Caribou Club is a fun experience. You technically have to be a "member" to eat there, but sometimes the nicer hotels will be able to get you a reservation. Very "frou frou" and the Aspen elite hang out there. The food is great--the atmosphere is nice, too--lodge-like and intimate.

I've had good meals at Campo Di Fiore (Italian), Conundrum, & Olives (in the St. Regis). Also "The Big Wrap" is good for lunch! There are tons of great places to choose from--enjoy! And congrats on the anniversary!

For a romantic dinner with excellent food, I'd recommend one of these three choices: cache cache (French), Pinons, or Szyzygy. Can't go wrong in any although my favorite is Cache Cache.

Second the recommendation for Cache Cache. Simply fabulous!

Fun lunch place might be Boogie's Diner. Fun atmosphere, and really good diner food.

Not expensive or fancy but my kids favorite dessert choice is the crepe wagon in Aspen. The day is not complete without a strawberry, banana, chocolate crepe (sometimes with a little brandy even)

We like Jimmy's for dinner... they have good steaks among other things, a warm and inviting atomosphere and about 150 different tequilas. You can get a true education about great tequila that you sip instead of doing shots.

We always hit Pacifica at happy hour for some good deals on appetizers and drinks. Cute little place and an appetizer my whole family likes...I think a big bowl of fried rock shrimp.

Elevation and Range are both good for dinner. We've had good service and good food each time we've eaten there.

I like Merlin's pizza for lunch. My kids like to go to Boogie's but we've never had good food or good service there. In fact they usually make a mistake on or order or forget to bring something. I keep saying never again and somehow we still go back.

For romantic, the restaurant at Little Nell is a good choice.

Paradise Bakery for yummy baked goods after dinner or for breakfast.

I wasn't blown away by the restaurant at the Little Nell. We stayed there last December and though we really liked the hotel, we thought the restaurant was a little unimpressive.
I thought the restaurant at the Hotel Jerome was better, plus the atmosphere was interesting.
I can't remember the name of a mexican-food restaurant where I thought we got the best meal. It's really teeny-tiny, but has great food. Don't think it falls into the "romantic" category, however.
