Aspen photo ops
 

I'll be going through Aspen in mid-October. Are there any particular places there that would serve as scenic viewpoints for photos of the town and/or countryside?

Maroon Bells, Roaring Fork River

yes, go to the Maroon Bells park. gorgeous.

If Independence Pass is still open (possible, but not guaranteed), the vistas from up there are amazing. The aspens will have already turned and fallen off by that late in the season, though, but if you have a clear day, you should get some great shots around town.

The area surrounding Aspen is all picture perfect! Especially Maroon Bells.

The Victorian architecture of the original homes is beautiful, too. Just walk those side streets behind the town.
