Aspen Co. -- Lunch Stop and a Stroll Help?

--Tomorrow, we will unexpectedly have time in Aspen for a lunch + a couple of hours on our way to Glenwood Hot Springs. Need great suggestions for a local lunch stop (fancy or dive...just want great food) . Would love a spot where we could then stroll and see some of the town. Have done no research this time....recommendations??? Thanks.

My wife and I stumbled upon this place last year for dinner once, then went back for more a couple nights later:

The menu doesn't necessarily look like much online, but you'll see it gets lots of high reviews on all the standard review sites, for what that is worth.

This one is also great and highly recommended.

We chose that to meet friends for dinner.

There are lots of good options in town but those two had meals to remember, in my mind.

Nelson....thanks much! And are these both on the main drag for tourists?

Yep, they are a block from each other and close to the Hotel Jerome, the heart of Aspen. If you have time consider driving up to see the Maroon Bells.

Have a great trip.

Thanks much... looked them up and both look perfect ( well..pyramid for me and white house for hubbie ) so will check them both out. Googling maroon bells now. Thanks again

We love the Hotel Jerome, for all its history. They have very good food @ the Prospect, the Living Room and the JBar:

We also recently stumbled upon (and had lunch at) the White House and liked it a lot. Food was good, service was friendly (but not of the "I'm so and so and I will be your server today" variety). Not terribly expensive.

Thanks all...and in the end, we intended to go to Whitehouse...we got there and hubbie was jonesing for game 3 playoff w Giants...so I was a generous travel partner and we ate in the Hotel Jerome bar. Was rewarded with an outstanding burger and super friendly service...v. expensive burger but a really fun lunch. Thanks to all.

Gotta see those playoff games!

We would've done the same thing (in our case, both of us). Glad the burger was great, not glad the Nationals won!
