AshvilleNC-CharlestonSC-SavannahGeorgia,

My husband and I are going on a two week trip through Ashville, Charleston and Savannah on our way to Florida to pick up our parents and bring them home. Since this will be a lengthy trip, we'd like to stay in "the best for the money" type places, scenic but not necessarily "fancy" --Cabins, b&bs, any suggestions?

In Charleston you might treat yourself to the best of the best--Two Meeting Street.

I second that. There free happy hour was a great plus.

My husband and I are of the same mind. Nice places with some charm, great locations, but not fancy or expensive.

Check out these 3 - we loved them all. Very special, but all very reasonable. All perfect locations.

Asheville - Hill House B&B

Charleston - Governor's House

Savannah - Zeigler House

Also check them out on Tripadvisor.com for reviews and pics.

The Governor's House is owned by the same family that owns Two Meeting Street.

Thanks for all of the great ideas. I forgot to say we're going at the end of April....anything special going on then?
