Asheville NC to Greenville SC
 

I am planning a trip this October to Charleston and Savannah and was looking for someplace for an overnight stop somewhere inbetween Asheville and Greenville. Any recommendations on either one of these two cities or maybe someplace between the two? I am looking to arrive on a Saturday afternoon.

Stay there.

Why not just go on to Greenville--it isn't far. If you are flying in, you are already "on the road" since the airport in basically in Hendersonville on the southeast side of town.

There's not much between Asheville and Greenville. Hendersonville is practically a suburb of Asheville. Stay in Asheville (would be my choice) or drive on to Greenville.

Do you specifically want to visit Greenville? Spartanburg is the city on the way between Asheville and Charleston area, it's along I-26, whereas Greenville is 20-30 miles to the west.

Are you looking for cute, quaint, funky, cool, or just a bed for your head?

Between Asheville and Spartanburg I'd check out Tryon or Saluda area for something out of the ordinary.
