Asheville and Charlottesville
We will be in Asheville on the last weekend of September to visit Biltmore ...and in Charlottesville on the 3rd and fourth of October. What croud do we have to expect. We're thinking about ordering and reserving the tour for Monticello. Will that be advisable. It's called the President's pass at 26 $ per person.Including Michie tavern and Ash lawn.Paul

Paul, you will be a bit a head of peak leaf watching season, but there will be crowds. To the extent you can do it, reserve ahead.
Enjoy your visit. |
Paul, did you check this website for Biltmore Estate?
http://planner.biltmore.com/plan/planner/planner.shtml To avoid crowds I suggest you get to the gate when is open at 8:30. First go to tour the chateau, then gardens. We always have a great lunch in Bistro at the winery. If you get tired of all activities you may return the next day for only $10.00. Before you are ready to leave go the the ticket booth and extend your visit by paying only $10.00 for the next full day. Of course you won't have to spend all day but there is a lot to do. |
Thank you all ver much for your input. For Asheville we will be coming from Gatlinburg and the start following the Blue ridge parkway to Asheville first visiting the town. Next day we plan to visit the Biltmore estate. Our last day we would like to visit Chimney rock.Greeting from Belgium Paul

Go to Chimney Rock only if the weather is perfect. There are many other more beauituful places than Chimney Rock and they are cheaper to visit too
