asheville accomodations
We are spending 3 nights in Asheville in early November and can't decide where to stay. We want something luxurious (anniversary) but Grove Park Inn had a very poor web site not actually going into any room selections. I have heard some are okay and some disappointing. Should be opt for the Inn at the Biltmore where the rooms look lovely. It is pricey but it looks so lovely and really not right in with the village. We like charm but not a small B&B.
Would appreciate some help. thanks |
I would opt for either the Inn at the Biltmore, The Richmond Hill Inn (a bit out of town) or the Haywood Park Hotel, right downtown. I visit the GPI annually and have never thought the rooms were very impressive unless you are on club level. The lobby and porches are lovely. Go have a drink and see them.

Thanks for your help. I was very disappointed in the Grove Park web site, showing very little. I think we may stay at the Biltmore as it will be a very special experience.
Thanks for your help! |
I think you will love it. If you are in teh mood for a spa treatment, a Fodorite put me on to The Secret Garden in Weaverville. The facials by Lisa are amazing. Plus two nice casual restaurants are there, Welbread Cafe and Stoney Knob Cafe. Both quite good.
Happy anniversary. |
Thanks, we appreciate your help. Any idea how long it takes to drive from Hilton Head area to Asheville?

I have never done the drive but would estimate around five to six hours.
