Art museums in Vegas

Going to Vegas next month and would like to know what would be the best art galleries or museums to visit while we are there. I have read where Bellagio has a nice art gallery. Could anyone give any suggestions?
Thank you.

Art galleries and Las Vegas go together like spam and filet mignon.
The typical LV tourist doesn't give a rat's behind about art or actual museums, so there's not much incentive for anyone to sink money into building museums/galleries in LV.
The art gallery at Bellagio has been depleted (since MGM bought the place and started cheapening it). Not much else in LV I know of in the way of traditional display art.

Thanks Myra for your reply. My wife and I are only going to Vegas because it was the most convenient place for us to fly into for us to visit the Utah parks. Since we are arriving late in the evening we will be staying overnight in Vegas and have a few hours to sightsee. My wife loves art and I was hoping maybe there would be a gallery or museum worth visiting.

Sahara West Museum is pretty nice. Of course it is nothing like museums in big cities but you can usually catch some pretty nice artwork touring there. It's about 20 mins from the strip.

The Bellagio has a small gallery that holds changing exhibitions. We saw the Calder exhibit there and found it very interesting and informative. We also visited the Art of the Motorcycle, an exhibition of motorcycles at the Venetian. Don't put your nose in the air. They really were art. There is also an exhibit of 19th and 20th century art at the Venetian that we were unable to see. I was disappointed that there wasn't any art in the public spaces of the Bellagio anymore. There are some great modern pieces throughout the Four Seasons, though.

I assume the poster who mentioned the Liberace Museum was joking, but I also thought of that museum; it's fun, and represents one Las Vegas version of art.

the museum at the venetian is a guggenhiem. you can probably check their website to see what's in their permanent and temporary exhibits. the motorcycle one is temporary.
