Arrowheads in S. Dakota?

I know this is a crazy question, but we are traveling to SD later this month & my friend is very interested in American Indian artifacts, especially arrowheads. Does anyone have any opinions as for visiting an Indian reservation there? Does anyone know where would be good for arrowhead hunting?

I'm pretty sure that taking artifacts (including arrowheads) would be illegal, especially on a reservation.

This link is a good place for info:

Summing up, hunting arrowheads is illegal on public property and on private property without the permission of the owner. So unless you can find people who will allow you to search on their property, any such search is quite illegal. If done on native land without permission, the fines are VERY steep.
