Arizona Memorial

I saw that you are not allowed to take any purses or bags to the memorial. Can you take a camera if it is bot in a bag?

You can bring camera if is not in a bag. At least we couldn't on December 6, 2002. Are you talking about a little camera or SLR? A big thing with extra lenses?

We visited the Memorial last week. You may bring the camera, but not the case or any other bag.

hmmm,

So if I want to bring an extra lens for my SLR camera, I'll need to "conceal" it, or can we just carry it in??

Makai1: Can't answer based on first hand experience. Security measure designed to prevent one from concealing weapons/explosives. Didn't see any place to stow contraband if you guess wrong. You're left to keep it in your vehicle in the parking lot.

"...A storage container is now available for visitors at the USS Arizona Memorial, USS Bowfin Submarine Park and USS Missouri. Strict security measures prohibit purses, handbags, fanny packs, backpacks, camera bags, diaper bags, luggage and/or other items that offer concealment in these areas. The storage container will provide visitors with a storage alternative for their belongings during their park visit. The adjacent USS Bowfin Memorial Park will operate the storage container. Items accepted will be carry-on size or smaller (30?H x 30?W x 18?D). The fee is $2.00 per item. Large luggage will not be accepted. .. "
