Are you traveling for the 4th? If so, how and how far?
There's a lot of news about terror threats over the 4th. Seems the media thinks everyone is going to stay at home and hide in the basement. I personally am not traveling this holiday weekend, but not for those reasons, sadly, I have to work on Friday.

So who's traveling, how far are you going, and how (plane, car, train)?

New York City! Leaving this afternoon!
Yes, I'm flying to Hawaii tomorrow and I'm scared but I'm not going to let the fear run my life =)
I'd like to be flying somewhere (why would someone be scared to fly?), but I'm driving to PA to hang out and swill beer.
Flying to Calgary.
Ann have you been watching the news lately? Both airports I'm flying out of ranked in the 5 most unsafe in the country post 9/11. 50% of screeners in my home city failed bomb and handgun detection in luggage.

We are going down the street to our neighbor's pool for cherrystones and other appetizers. Then we are cooking large lobsters and steamers in a giant turkey-fryer on our driveway and eating them in our porch. After that, it's time for illegal fireworks.

We are not traveling because there is nothing I would rather do tomorrow.
Leaving in 5 minutes to drive to Youngstown, Ohio to visit BF's relatives. It's a 6-hour drive from NYC. The last time I went there by plane (August) it took over 8 hours each way because of the godawful delays at LaGuardia. Never again!!

Everyone enjoy your 4th!
Traveling out to the grill on the back patio.
Leaving in an hour to Washington DC from New York.We were very lucky that both of us survived 9/11 (we've been right in the middle) but we would not let fear run our life.

Happy birthday America!!! Everybody enjoy your Independence day!
NYC > Mass by car
Heading to Keystone Colorado for a long weekend of hiking, biking, food, wine, fun, frolic about 90 min drive.
Will walk downtown to hear the Declaration of Independence read by a local dignitary (have you ever read it? it's actually fascinating); see an exhibit of antique toy trains; have a chicken barbecue; buy perennials for the garden; walk home. All this is done by our local historical society. Fireworks are the next night. I love it.
Heading out to the Keys for a long 4th! Hope everyone has a fun and safe fourth......
Doing the 4th at my pool, touching up the tan. Then hanging out in the condo in the nude to mix a marguerita or two, for after all, it is the nation's birthday, and I'm to be attired in the right suit for the occasion. If you can't stop, at least honk and wave. God Bless America!! You get the first toast tomorrow, US of A.
Are you heading to Banff Bob Brown? It will be nice to have you back for a visit.
My son is flying to NYC tomorrow morning (I wish he wouldn't). His girlfriend is driving today via DC to Boston, in an un-airconditioned car, on I-95 most of the way. Please take care of her if you see her.
All I can say is I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday. I am a Canadian, and we had a great Canada Day on the 1st. I would love to come down for your 4th of July. I heard you all know how to put on a party. good luck and have fun!!!!
Heading to the UP to camp for the next several days, do a little fishing, swimming, and sitting around a fire. Its a 250 mile trip but since I only started planning 2 days ago it was the closest place I could find that had an open camping site - the entire state of Wisconsin is booked solid - damn FIBS! :-)
We live in Boca Raton FL and will be driving up to Orlando for a three night stay at the Marriott World Center. A bunch of us are going and it's sort of a family reunion.....can't wait! Have fun everyone and have a happy and safe Fourth!
