Are there Hawaiin Beers??

We will be visiting Maui and was wondering if there are micro-brew type beer available. We don't care for the typical type beers(Bud, Coors, Miller), also wondered if Hawaii brews their own beer?? Thanks!

Kona is the one you will see the most, but there are other smaller breweries, including Tradewinds on Maui and various brewpubs.

we tasted a Hawaiian brewed beer called Tsunami on our Hawaiian Airlines flight, perfect to get us in the mood and it was good too! Ended up requesting it a few times throughout our trip.

og719: Thanks for the question about Primo. It truly was Hawaiian sunshine. How about it current Hawaii residents/visitors? Are they still making Primo?

Primo is history. The brewery and bottling operations were shipped to the mainland in 1979.The last of Primo was produced in 1998.
