Are there any tours of George Lucas's production company?

Are there any tours available of Industrial Light and Magic special effects production company? I beleive Skywalker Ranch is a private residence, but I was wondering if something might be available like a "studio tour" at "the shop."
THanks in advance for any leads.

Have you tried contacting them directly to see if they offer tours?

The Lucas Film employment website seems to say they do not exist due to proprietary nature of the business. Just thought we might be looking in the wrong place... maybe there is some sort of studio tour in LA under a different name? My 13-year-old son would love to see where the magic happens; Lucas is his idol!

I was always under the assumption the work at Industrial Lights and Magic is "top secret" (especially now since they're working on the next Star Wars movie) so I really doubt they would have tours.

As for studio tours in LA, they would be more general movie set tours rather than one geared towards ILM productions.

No - you need badges to even get on the grounds . . . .

Once in a while groups of animation students or other specialists are granted access, but tourists -- no.

Sorry you can't have a tour, but if you'd like a good peek, Architectural Digest featured Skywalker on its cover and in a multi-page layout a few months ago. Next best thing, maybe?

Thanks for the confirmations, everyone! And thanks for the magazine tip, too!
