The Days Inn on 7th is fine. I've been able to get a room there for $60 on previous visits.

you may want to try the Green Tortoise hostel or the Ace Hotel (Belltown). You could also try Hampton Inn which is near the airport but you could always just take the Metro bus into the city.

Oh, goodness, don't stay at the Commodore! Flophouse city.

In addition to the other suggestions, try the Inn at Queen Anne. You could walk to downtown from there and rates should be under $100 for a single, even in summer. Also try the Pacific Plaza right downtown...summer rates should be close to or under $100 for a single (esp. if you have AAA), and they include continental breakfast.

When are you coming? There are a whole bunch of decent places that have Supersaver rates under $100 if your visit is before April 14.

Hi Sheri!
Good to see you posting again. Sorry to intrude on this thread, so I'll try to ask a related question. Is mid April when most hotel prices go up in Washington?

Here's the Supersaver site:

http://www.seattlesupersaver.com/

We stayed at the Homewood Suites booked via this site, it was fine, near the waterfront, Space Needle and Belltown.

I was in Seattle for Labor day weekend (a busy time there) and got the Crowne Plaza for $60 per night on Priceline.com - before I won the priceline bid I'd planned to stay at the Inne at Queen Anne for $90 per night. It's worth trying priceline - you could probabaly get a basic hotel for $45 per night and a nice one for $60-65.

Before you try priceline you should look at www.biddingfortravel.com .
The bible on how to do this and to see what bids are being accepted.

Hey
we stay last Aug. at the hampton Inn right near the space needle and it was great and not that expensive. We walked at night and didn't feel threatened. We also walked down to the trolley cars and went into town or stay near the water. We also had breakfast every morning with the hampton inn.

I would look into the KINGS INN on 5th avenue... right near the Monerail tracks and not far from the Westin. Winter rooms are always $50 or $60 and they're centrally located. It's a MOtel and a place where some of my friends have stayed while in town.

The Commodore isn't really that bad. We stayed there last year with two other couples and one had a 3 year old. It is definitely not luxury, but you can get a room with its own private bath. We did not have any problems and the location is actually great. So if all you want is a bed, then give it a try.
