Are the pools still open in Vegas?
Are the pools still open in Vegas (specifically at TI)? Just curious.
|
I stayed at the Flamingo in January, 2005 and the pool was open. Many people were in the pool, too.
|
It's still fairly warm so I am sure the pools are still open. What you can do if you are afraid they will be closed when you visit is call the hotel and ask. Don't just ask the operator, ask for the Hotel Operations Dept. or the Manager's Office. The only time of the year we have encountered pools closed (and we go to Vegas often) has been the week before Christmas. They do have to do painting, maintenance, etc. sometime tho.

My only fall/ winter visits, I encountered the following:
November: Sahara pool open Early March: LV Hilton Pool closed. Mid March: Sunset Station pool closed. This was in the 2001 - 2004 timeframe. |
I was at MGM in late November and there was water in the pool - but no people. Don;t know if they were officially "closed" - didn't see anything like a lifeguard - or it was just too cold.

Call and see OR
If you already have it booked: who cares? If a pool is your criteria: why vegas? If you are really just curious and don't actually care: what difference does it make? |
We stayed at the Bellagio in December '05 and their pools were still open. Only one of them was heated (nicely too). The others were COOOOOLD!!
|
I was at Caesar's in January 2006, One pool was heated. It was open. The rest had water in them, but it was a bit chilly at 50 degrees out, for anybody going in the pool.

One week ago today the Mirage pool was open and contained a handful of hearty kids with an ambient temp of 74 and a brisk breeze! The kids were having a great time. The lifeguards were wearing hats, windbreakers, and had towels over their legs and around their necks!
I guess when one is used to the desert a breezey 74 is pretty cool. RP |
