What about all the goofs that play video games all day. I was at blockbuster eralier today and the manager was saying how he played this new game for 5 straight hours. I think a few minutes of your day posting on Fodors is harmless.

I can tell you now from many years of experiences on this boards that we are having many individuals posting here using many names and many of those are not for real, not for sale, not for lease, and I would never consider them for hire, either. But I must say this about that: They are who they are.

Do seek truth in all your travels and you will never be in question, in doubt, or in denial.

I am on Fodor's almost all day, off and on.
As a severely ADHD travel professional, I work almost exclusively via email and Sabre.
Fodor's is a distraction, when I need a few minutes to 'reset' myself.
Fodor's seems to have been perfectly designed for people with ADHD!
I could post much more than I do... I just don't always because others are better at stating my thoughts :)

starrsville Oct 21st, 2005 03:39 AM

I've only traveled half the world. I'm on this forum trying to find a way back home.

Curt Oct 21st, 2005 07:12 AM

Hey I bet Rex has at least that many if not more, and he works as an MD.....or did anyway

Kal Oct 21st, 2005 07:21 AM

I think I'm a figment of my own imgination. #-O

I find that I shun myself at times.

"Been there-Done that-Made the Fodor's trip report".

Scarlett Oct 21st, 2005 08:23 AM

Kal, I know what you mean :D

I have decided after much thought that I am not real. I only exist on Fodors. I am just hoping that some others that pop up now and then, with scary faces and waaay too much attitude , are not real either :O

LoveItaly Oct 21st, 2005 09:43 AM

I am amazed that a poster on this board has nothing better to do then count the number of post of other posters, LOL.

FainaAgain Oct 21st, 2005 11:28 AM

As I am not real I don't care to count my posts... maybe I am the object of Hofstra's envy?

I am the "slow day at work" variety of a Fodor's addict, thank you Scarlett :)

Oh, wait, I don't reply to every inquiry! I would even miss the Kauai fun if not for the Kalifornia Nurse (try to say it with Arnold's accent!)

And I don't qualify for "all over the world" as most of my posts are here on USA board.

Oh, this is depressing. Where is Statia, I need some poison NOW.

Statia Oct 21st, 2005 11:47 AM

LOL, Faina. You must have been reading my mind. It's a holiday here and I'm off work, busily packing while thinking about starting on my poison a bit early today. ;)

tcreath Oct 21st, 2005 12:53 PM

I guess I'm lucky enough to have a boring job that allows me time to access Fodors all day. I rarely post outside of normal work hours. I'm also lucky enough that my boring job also gives me six weeks of vacation each year so I can take the time to travel.

wanderluster Oct 21st, 2005 05:13 PM

This was an interesting read:)
Yes, I'm real and only screenname.

Its hard not to spot similarities
in some posters who IMO have more than one name.
(obviously they are mcuh better traveled and have more to say;)

Faina, ditto, I'm the *slow
day at work addict* too,
which happens too rarely.
At home its only when I can wrestle the computer away from the fmaily.
(shouldnt everyone have their own?)

cigalechanta Oct 21st, 2005 05:25 PM

And I thought these Idiot posters who count how many posts someone has were only on the Euro board but please, not all are trolls.

starrsville Oct 21st, 2005 05:27 PM

It's a full moon - I'm not "real" anymore...

cigalechanta Oct 21st, 2005 05:40 PM

Do you, here on the US board think there are more trolls here than the Euro? I once read when I first came to fodors that the US board was the most nasty. BUT I don't think so. I think the Euro is. What are your opinions?

starrsville Oct 21st, 2005 05:44 PM

The US board isn't as nasty as it used to be. Haven't been on the Europe board much this year.

CaliNurse Oct 21st, 2005 10:03 PM

Yes, FainaAgain..."Kalifornia Nurse" and proud of it!! By the way, what's with YOUR screen name: "Here we go AGAIN"??
Yours in health, Calinurse

Scarlett Oct 21st, 2005 10:06 PM

I thought Faina had a screen name glitch with Fodors and posted as Faina again instead of Faina 2 or whatever...right? Faina?

Kalifornia? as in KMart? why do I feel a step behind? lol

Scarlett Oct 21st, 2005 10:08 PM

ACtually, CaliNurse, this is one of those threads I was speaking about on another forum..where the OP posts something that is not really a travel question but the off topic answers make it funny or entertaining..
This could just as easily have been an ugly flamethrowing thread, but it is sort of goofy instead..Not Katty or a Klique :D just goofy~

CaliNurse Oct 21st, 2005 10:48 PM

Scarlett--Goofy is good. I saw that other thread about irrelevant but funny comments--a month or two ago? it was hilarious.
I've no idea what the K in Kalifornia means. Perhaps Faina thinks due to Arnold's Austrian accent, the hard C sound in California is more adequately rendered by the letter K.
'splain yourself, FainaA.
Back to Hofstra's original question: Speaking for myself, I've been here a lot more in the last month, answering inquiries in which I can add some hopefuly useful knowledge, due to post-op recovery period at home. What kind of job I have now is NONE, which helps with rest and relaxation, but makes for much stress due to big decrease in income. Alas, how can i realistically plan my next trip!!??
(On a personal note --apologies for brief off-the-topic to all) Scarlett, how's Pup the Poodle? And we did stay at a ParisPerfect apt based partly on your rec, and were quite happy there.)
