Are Krystal Hamburgers Still 12 for a Dollar
It has been 38 years since I have eaten at a Krystal. I will be flying to London via Atlanta with a 2 1/2 hour layover and to my joy, the Altanta airport lists a Krystal in Terminal A.
I will be happy to take a bag on the flight to London. What are the prices now or can I still get a dozen for a buck? I am sure glad that gormet dining has finally reached Atlanta..... |
No, Luttrell, you can no longer get a sacful of Krystals for a buck...seems like they may be 40 or 50 cents each now!
Now they have breakfast, fried chicken, pecan pie. And as it's been a few years since I've eaten there, they likely have all sorts of other things as well. But they still make those little square burgers with ketchup and onions.
If you want true southern cooking, eat at Paschal's in the food court at the middle of Terminal A.
Enjoy your Krystals. Now if there was a Krispy Kreme at the airport you would have really been in hog heaven! |
or get a Chick-Fil-A Chicken and Biscuit for breakfast!!
I truly enjoy reading Tandoori_Girl's contributions. I've truly enjoyed hundreds (if not more) of Krystal hamburgers ("Krystals"). The original Krystals were not served with ketchup: yellow mustard, dill pickle and grilled onions on a steamed bun. www.krystal.com

I've been reading and just have to ask the experts: Are these hamburgers like what we can buy in NJ at White Castle???
I am going by memory now..Yes, they are like White Cstle, but better and served with Southern Hospitality and the Krystal Website beats White Castle like a drum....
They're good because they are three things: FAT, SALTY, and FRIED!!!!
Has my memory failed me, or aren't the Krystal hamburgers square?
And don't I remember them being 5 for $1.00 in 1970 in Athens, Georgia? |
